STATEMENT OF PRACTICE:
Bankruptcy, Commercial, Corporate and Government Contracts Law.
FIRM-PROFILE: Year
Established: 1951
The firm was founded in 1951 by D. Byron King and James A. Fischette,
fraternity brothers and graduates of the University of Florida Law
School. Starting with a local, general practice with concentration on
commercial collections and commercial litigation, the firm became more
involved in bankruptcy as it grew and has the longest continued
bankruptcy experience in the area of Northeast Florida. The firm
represents both creditors and debtors and is usually involved in any
major commercial bankruptcy in the area. Bankruptcy and bankruptcy
related practice amounts to the majority of the firm's engagement. All
partners and associates participate in continuing legal education
seminars, the partners often as speakers; the partners being very
active in the Commercial Law League of America and its Bankruptcy and
Insolvency Section.
